Toshiba Makes Peace with Blu-ray
Toshiba, which worked so hard to establish the HD DVD format as the high-def disc format of choice, has launched its first Blu-ray player just in time for CEDIA.

The BDX2000 is a Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) player with all the features you'd expect, including 1080p/24fps output and support for lossless surround. Among the Toshiba-specific features is the REGZA-LINK, the company's brand of HDMI-CEC, which will coordinate the functioning of the disc player with other products such as TVs. The BDX2000 will sell for $250, shipping in November.
