The Yamaha sailed through most of our VTB hurdles with generally superb scores, particularly on the Digital tests, which were pristine across the board. However, on the Analog tests (component in, HDMI out), the Yamaha was tripped up on the video-clipping test (it didn’t pass above white or below black). It showed noticeable rolloff on the highest Luma Resolution test burst and failed the highest resolution burst on the Chroma Resolution test.—TJN
