I'm not certain I understand the observation regarding maximum distances without a booster (unless you're talking about only wireless HDMI). I have a 30 foot run in my HT and I have no issues whatsoever.

"The range is 30 feet, effectively doubling the maximum distance you can run an HDMI cable..." Sorry...don't buy that. I have a 50 foot HDMI cable running from my equipment closet to my TV through the walls and attic. It is performing just fine. And it cost me $45. There may be a reason for wireless HDMI but not at that price point and not because of a 30+ foot cable run.
