TV Energy Labels Make Their Debut

The familiar EnergyGuide label includes model, estimated yearly cost compared to similar models, and estimated energy usage for the particular model on display.
Congress passed the Energy Independence and Security Act, which requires the labels, in 2007. The label will apply to all TVs made after May 11, 2011. Retail websites selling TVs will be required to show the label starting on July 11, 2011.
