Blu-ray was a big part of Sony’s press conference and their new ES flagship player was definitely the highlight. The player features top notch build quality along with full support of all Blu-ray profiles.

The BDP-S5000ES features 14-bit color processing for improved gradient performance along with a new fine detail enhancer to make the images sharper where they need it.

The ES player will support all of the new audio formats in bitstream form along with full oboard decoding to PCM for digital or analog output. The back panel features a 7.1 analog output along with a RS-232 control for custom installations and remote systems.

The player will ship in November and retail for $2000. A 400-disc Blu-ray disc changer in the ES line was also hinted at for 2009.
