Planar knows a lot about video displays – how to get them into hospitals, tanks and now, home theaters. The deals was inked 101 days ago. Planar's more global positioning will help expand Runco heretofor minimal international presence.

But back on earth, Runco is still selling single chip (DLP) 720p projectors, like the RS400, and quite frankly, the picture coming from it looked better than some 1080p projectors I've seen. Price is $3,995 for the base version with the short throw lens, or a grand more for the long throw.
