Panasonic SC-ST1 & SC-HT900 HTIB HT Labs Measures: SC-ST1
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the SB-FS901 satellite (purple trace), SB-WA330 subwoofer (blue trace), and SB-PC52 center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
The SB-FS901's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +5.91/–3.42 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 172 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 150 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 8.29 ohms at 468 Hz and a phase angle of –33.18 degrees at 254 Hz. Sensitivity averages 81.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
The SB-PC52's listening-window response measures +2.38/–4.72 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.23/–1.99 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 208 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 194 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.38 ohms at 20 kHz and a phase angle of –51.01 degrees at 8.4 kHz. Sensitivity averages 82.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
The SB-WA330's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 42 Hz and the –6dB point is at 39 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 143 Hz.
The left amplifier channel, with two channels driving 8-ohm loads, reaches 0.2% distortion at 26.3 watts and 1% distortion at 34.2 watts. Into 4 ohms, the amplifier reaches 0.2% distortion at 28.5 watts and 1% distortion at 34.4 watts. Crosstalk at 1 kHz driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load was –53.17 dB left to right and –52.33 dB right to left. THD+N from the amplifier was less than 0.094% at 1 kHz when driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load. The signal-to-noise ratio with 2.83 volts driving an 8-ohm load from 10 Hz to 24 kHz with "A" weighting was –81.24 dBrA.—AJ
