Panasonic announced a pair of new LCD home theater projectors. The AX100 is a 1280x720 model that sports a dynamic iris, dynamic gamma, Smooth Screen, and a price tag of $2999 (October).

The AE1000 is a full 1920x1080 design that also has a dynamic gamma and iris, a C2Fine LCD panel, a new HD lens system, a Pure Color optical filter, 14 bit gamma processing, and an all-glass aspherical lens. It should ship in December, at a price yet to be announced.
