Oppo BDP-83 Universal Disc Player Conclusion

Conclusion
Since this player was announced last year at CEDIA, I've been eagerly anticipating its arrival. In fact, I have quite a few friends who wanted to get into Blu-ray, and I advised them to wait until Oppo released its player before taking the leap. I can now assure them—and you—that it was more than worth the wait.

The BDP-83 is the complete package—it rivals the PS3 in speed, it plays Blu-ray discs flawlessly with a DVD-like experience, it offers outstanding upconversion of DVDs, and it even plays SACD and DVD-A discs. Even better, it lists for only $500, making it an incredible value. The Oppo BDP-83 truly is the ultimate Blu-ray player, and it's found a permanent home in my reference system.

After dealing with the Samsung crap and all the other mass produced DVD players I finely bought an OPPO for my Home Theater. It works flawlessly every time. Best video and sound you will find. I have seen DVD players costing 3X as much that don't match the OPPO. Highly recommended!

Have you tried the OPPO with Region 2 (European) DVDs or BlueRay discs? I own Region 2 DVDs and will probably buy BlueRays when I move there. I would like to take a good multi-region BlueRay player with me. What info do you have?

Oppo makes a Region 2 player.

Oppo makes a Region 2 player. Also, there are aftermarket mods that can make the player region free, but technically this is illegal to do (although I don't see why...region coding is silly, in my humble opinion).

Unable to configure D-Link wireless DWA-125N adapter on oppo

i am having a oppo BDP-83 Blue ray disc player and i want to upgarde the firmware version of player so i purchased D-link DWA-125N Usb wireless adapter to connect player through internet and i have a wireless connection setup at home ,when i connect the d-link adapter to the player usb port its never recognised the wi-fi connection and due to unable to upgrade the firmware so kindly help me to configure the wireless adapter on oppo BDP-83 player,
