I echo your comments, Scott.
I was recently at the HiFi House located on the Concord Pike in Wilmington, Delaware and had an opportunity to have an extended listening session of the Triton Twos powered by flagship Ayre Electronics and Transparent speaker cables and interconnects. In fact, I learned that Sandy Gross was in the store early December to introduce the speakers. All the salesman had the collective opinion that Sandy seems very much like an astute college professor as opposed to an award winning audio engineer/designer.
While obviously paired with electronics that the average buyer would not likely use with the Triton Two speakers, the music I heard was wonderful. I suspect that most buyers will pair these speakers with a quality A/V Receiver (i.e. Arcam, Anthem, Pioneer Elite, etc.). In short, these speakers have a way of pulling one in with their seductive sound. I found it quite addictive listening to a David Sandborn SACD that I brought with me. The Triton's have a dynamic quality that I would bet gives five figure speakers a run for their money (i.e. Wilson, B&W, Dynaudio and dare I say it...Magico). Another key point worth mentioning was that the bass from the speakers was not only powerful but had good pitch definition - a characteristic often overlooked by many. Those looking for one note bass need not apply.
Scott, I really hope that you, Fremer or TJN review these speakers in Home Theater Magazine. I am curious to see whether a professional review of the speakers would concur with my opinion.
Big shout out to Sandy G. for giving us speakers that are superbly engineered, sound great and are priced appropriately for us shallow-pocketed, work'in joes.
