Energy V2.4 / V2.0C / V2.0R / S10.2 Surround System HT Labs Measures
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the V2.4 L/R (purple trace), S10.2 subwoofer (blue trace), V2.0C center channel (green trace), and V2.0R surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
On-axis response of the V2.4 measures +2.86/-2.20 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The --3dB point is at 55 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 46 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.63 ohms at 34 Hz and a phase angle of -24.06 degrees at 29 Hz. Sensitivity averages 86 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
On-axis response of the V2.0C measures +1.35/-2.12 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and (+/-15 degree) horizontal responses measures +1.67/-2.49 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 60 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 46 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.06 ohms at 157 Hz and a phase angle of -49.12 degrees at 93 Hz. Sensitivity averages 87 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
Three-face averaged response of the V2.0R measures +1.20/-2.16 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 82 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 59 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.72 ohms at 195 Hz and a phase angle of -46.46 degrees at 98 Hz. Sensitivity averages 84 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
Close-miked response of the S10.2 in the Audio mode, normalized to the average level from 40 to 80 Hz, indicates that the lower -3dB point is at 25 Hz and the -6dB point is at 23 Hz. The upper -3dB point is at 117 Hz.—AJ
