Cambridge Audio Azur 650BD

Long known for high-quality audio products, Cambridge Audio is introducing the Azur 650BD Blu-ray player, which joins the growing ranks of so-called universal players that can play DVD-Audio and SACD in addition to Blu-ray, DVD, and CD. In addition, it provides BD-Live functionality and 7.1-channel analog-audio outputs, and it can decode all the audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, all for $750.

Yeah, but is it really that good? I mean I want it to be, mostly because it is in silver and there are too many black only blurays How does it stack up against the oppo bd?

I won't know until we get one in for review.

I have just ordered one from Miller Sound out of Landsdale, PA. It should be awesome. Cambridge puts out only quality, I'm sure there might be some flaws, but what doesn't have any? I think I will love it, but it will only be available in Black for now, which is fine with me. I am using the Adcom GFR 700 pushing Infinity RSIIIB's front RS 5001's in back and Kappa Video center. All have been recently upgraded and updated by Bill Ladel of Miller Sound a true Master with vintage speakers.

Aaargh! Why only in black?! All the rest of my CA stuff is in silver. A mistake on their part -- lot of hifi-enthousiasts prefer silver (reminds them of 70s gear!); now the 650DB will be just another black box sitting between Pioneers, Sonys and Denons. :(

Anyone compare the CA 650 to the Oppo 83SE? Is the SE that much better then the 650 for the extra $$?
