Although this is touted to have improvements over the older XT4 speakers in the midrange and woofer areas, I would have considered the largest upgrade to be better packing for this series of speakers. One long transit and the boxes for this model turn to junk. The packing leaves much to be desired. Driver replacement is difficult at best and most often leads to additional damage to the speaker with the complex installation of the drivers. A fine example[xt-40 of an over-engineered speaker with low performance ratings.

could you post the specs on the new xt-8... how does the efficiency rating compare to the xt-4's ? thanks..
